The following text is the quot from the interview that was given by Sara Sterk from the Andrea Wolf Institute of the Jineolojî Academy that is based here in ROJAVA.
in terms of healthcare we saw everywhere in the world how much the health system lead by the state and private companies were not able to face the Corona Virus problem, the COVID-19 spreading problem. But also, to give an answer to everybody’s healthcare needs. So, we clearly see the problem everywhere, for example for us one of the project that Jineolojî is involved in, is in Jinwar, in the women’s village. Just before the start of the quarantine, women’s clinic has been opened which is named: ‘ŞifaJin’. It is a clinic, it is made by the women and for the women. Women from Jinwar and villages around made this project, ŞifaJin is focusing on natural medicine, it tries whenever it is possible, not to use chemical. And it was very symbolic that women built ŞifaJin and it is very important to create health projects that is based on society and not based on money, not based on state mentality as we saw how much it is a problem. It has been criticized, there were also strikes, a lot of denounce during this all over the world. How much health system is not made for the people but with a different interest. So ŞifaJin in Jinwar is this kind of project there are alternatives we can create by ourselves. Women can be vanguard of a new health system, of a new approach to what to mean to build the life, a good life with good health. Not just in physical way but also, like seeing social issues inside this.
And also to have this kind of clinics in villages is very important, also when you cannot move so easily because of the Coronavirus but in general for people to have access to possibility that next to your village, next to your home, you can go and find some doctor, some person that can help you in case it is necessary. It is also something particularly important.
